NEW YORK -Â Freshman Marissa Aniolowski (Enfield, Conn.) has been named to the 2016 BIG EAST All-Freshman team, the conference office announced Tuesday as part of its regular season awards release.
Aniolowski becomes the seventh Pirate in program history to be named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman team and the second in as many years. Teammate Eva Gonzalez (Mesquite, Texas) was an honoree in 2015.
Aniolowski started all 17 matches for the Pirates and proved to be a versatile piece for The Hall, alternating between playing in the backfield and attacking up front. She had two goals on five shots on goal during the season, including the game-winning goal in the 76th minute of Seton Hall's 1-0 win over Xavier on Oct. 9. Her two goals tied her for the team lead.
