South Orange, N.J. – Emma Clark, former associate head coach at Boston University, and Allison Saucier, former assistant coach at Hartford, have been announced as the newest additions to the Seton Hall women's soccer coaching staff, announced by head coach Ciara Crinion.
Clark joins The Hall after serving as the assistant coach at BU from 2016-2018. She was elevated to associate head coach in December before taking the role as top assistant with the Pirates. In 2018, Clark's Terriers won the Patriot League regular season and tournament championships, and reached the NCAA Tournament. The BU staff was named Patriot League Coaching Staff of the Year.
"I am delighted to add Emma to our staff," said head coach Ciara Crinion. "She comes from a fantastic program at BU under the tutelage of Nancy Feldman. Along with her high work rate and commitment to player development, Emma is an excellent recruiter, and a great fit for the program here at Seton Hall."
The York, Maine native also had success during her first two seasons at BU, reaching the Patriot League semifinal in 2017, after tying for the regular season championship and reaching the tournament final in 2016. Clark also mentored numerous all-region and all-conference selections, two Patriot League Rookie of the Year recipients, and a Patriot League Defender of the Year.
Clark entered the coaching realm after a stellar collegiate playing career at BU, where she was a two-time All-Conference selection, two-time All-Region selection, and 2012 America East Midfielder of the Year. She led the Terriers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2011 and 2013, and helped BU to a top-25 national ranking.
Prior to re-joining BU as an assistant coach, and after graduating from BU in 2014, Clark spent two years as an assistant at the University of Maine, where she earned a master's degree, and helped the Black Bears finish second in the America East regular season in 2015.
Allison Saucier spent the last three seasons working alongside Crinion at the University of Hartford as an assistant coach. Her main responsibilities included all goalkeeper training, team fitness training, and breaking down film for player development and scouting. During her tenure, the Hawks won the America East regular season title in both 2016 and 2018.
"Working with Allison at Hartford, I saw first-hand her high level of commitment and excellent work ethic," said Crinion. "Not only does she do a fantastic job with goalkeepers, she adds another dimension in her coaching expertise with qualification in sports nutrition and strength & conditioning."
Saucier developed the 2016 America East Goalkeeper of the Year, and helped the Hawks register nine shutouts that season. She also coached multiple youth teams at the Oakwood Soccer Developmental Academy in Glastonbury, Conn, and was the goalkeeper coach for the Girls Development Academy.
As a player, Saucier completed an exceptional career at the University of Connecticut in 2015, where she was the team captain and led the Huskies as goalkeeper to an American Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2015 and tournament championship in 2014. While at UConn, she was part of two NCAA Tournament teams, the team MVP in 2015, the Most Improved Player in 2014, and an AAC All-Tournament selection in 2014. She furthermore was chosen to participate in the NEWISA Senior Bowl, and won the 2012 Women's Soccer Strength & Conditioning Award.
"I have no doubt that both Emma and Allison have a bright future in the game. I am very proud of the staff we have put together for our women's soccer program here at Seton Hall, and we are excited to get to work," said Crinion.
