Kait Collin, a former team captain and goalkeeper at Michigan State, was announced as the newest member of the women's soccer staff by head coach Rick Stainton in May 2018.
“Kait comes to our program with valuable experience and knowledge gained while playing for, and working with, some amazing coaches in her young career,” said Stainton. “She is ambitious, energetic and knowledgeable, and will be a tremendous asset and contributor to our program.”
The Grand Ledge, Mich. native joins The Hall following brief stints as assistant coach at Western Michigan and McNeese State. She was responsible for goalkeeper training and development, while managing camps and clinics, breaking down film and assisting with travel accommodations.
While at McNeese, Collin tutored Emma Roccaforte, the 2017 Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and All-Southland First Team selection.
Collin spent three seasons as a goalkeeper at Western Michigan before joining Michigan State for the 2016 season where she started the first nine games between the posts before suffering a season-ending injury.
While at MSU, Collin was a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner and posted a 4-4-1 record with 58 saves and a 6.44 saves per game average, good for 17th in the nation. At Western Michigan, she was part of the 2013 MAC Championship team and won an NCAA Tournament game.
From 2013-16, Collin furthermore worked alongside head coaches from across Michigan to evaluate and assess the talents of youth goalkeepers and worked to prepare them for the Olympic Development Program.
