SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – An early goal scored by junior Julia Aronov (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and a stingy defensive effort down the stretch propelled the Seton Hall women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Lehigh on Sunday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field.

The Pirates (5-2) went 2-1 on the homestand and improved to 3-1 on the season when playing on campus.

Just two minutes after the opening whistle, freshman Natalie Tavana (Middletown, Conn.) sent a pass to the far side of the pitch and found classmate Sophie Liston (Newcastle West, Ireland). Liston sent a cross into the box that found the foot of Aronov who converted and put the Pirates ahead 1-0.

In the 25th minute, Liston looked to have an opportunity to score a goal of her own but it hit off the post and was picked up by the keeper.

Despite consistent pressure in the second half by the Mountain Hawks, the Seton Hall backline and junior keeper Grace Gordon (Chester Springs, Pa.) were able to keep them off the scoreboard.

Aronov now has three goals in her career at Seton Hall and they've all come over the last two matches.
Liston now has three assists on the season and Tavana has two assists.
The Hall posted its fourth clean sheet of the season as Gordon finished with six saves.
Gordon, Tavana, senior Dani Brinckman (Glastonbury, Conn.), junior Abbie Roberts (Bedfordshire, England), senior Laura Hooper (Watford, England), freshman Cara Milne-Redhead (Clitheroe, England) and senior Emily Arellano (Wadsworth, Ohio) all played the full 90 minutes.
With 11 regular season games still to play, the Pirates have already matched their best win total since 2016.
Hooper finished with a team-high three shots and two shots on goal.
Sophomore Maille McDermott (Nashua, N.H.) registered her first career shot and shot on goal.
