
Pirates Head To NJIT and Delaware This Week

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Following a 1-0 win over Lafayette in the season opener, the Seton Hall women's soccer team will hit the road to take on NJIT on Thursday at 4 p.m. before traveling to Delaware for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday.

AGAINST NJIT AND DELAWARE
Despite being in the same county only miles apart, this will be the first-ever meeting in women's soccer between the Pirates and NJIT.
The last meeting between The Hall and Delaware was on Sept. 22, 2019 when the Blue Hens narrowly claimed a 2-1 victory in double overtime. Delaware scored in the first three minutes of the match but 20 seconds later Laura Hooper (Watford, England) scored the equalizer, her first career goal at Seton Hall.

- The 2020 campaign saw the Pirates win their first season opener since 2014 and defeat conference rival St. John's for the first time since 2011.
- Two seniors from last season – Laura Hooper (Watford, England) and Dani Brinckman (Glastonbury, Conn.) – are back for fifth seasons and will help hold down the midfield and back line, respectively.
- Also back for The Hall on defense are upperclassmen Maris Difonso (Joppa, Md.), Emily Arellano (Wadsworth, Ohio), Lauren DiPietro (Stoney Creek, Ontario), Abbie Roberts (Bedfordshire, England) and, at goal, Grace Gordon (Chester Springs, Pa).
- Gordon registered her first career clean sheet to go along with four saves in the win over Lafayette.
